Bursting with Color

Lets’s Talk Framing

Here’s a sneak peak of the wall art I’m working on right now. I’m extra excited because I found a new source for beautiful frames, Art to Frame. I ordered some frames for personal projects and was super pleased. Not only are the products great quality, their packaging is amazing – so secure and professional. It feels good to have confidence that my order will arrive promptly and securely – and I’m very comfortable picking out colors on the screen. Everything in my order worked out just as I had envisioned.

New Bursts of Color Wall Art
Please excuse the watermarks on these photos. These images are just quickie shots I took for this blog post but I still felt them watermark-worthy. I love the way these pieces are turning out!

I have three pieces completed, three more still “on the needle”; the yellow one is a custom order. I ordered the frame for that one yesterday, with 2 mats because I love matted artwork! I want to make sure the depth of the frame is going to work out before I order more. You can see how I mounted the layers in such a way to provide lift between them. I expected to order a shadow box frame but it seemed a little overkill depth-wise. Plus the color choices were more limited. I do have some fancy projects in the future for which I think these 2+” deep shadowbox frames will be perfect. If the frame I ordered isn’t quite deep enough, I have some tricks up my sleeve that I’ve used in the past to add depth.

Blue & Yellow Hand Stitched Layers
I still find it amazing that when sewing in these single seed beads, they end up lying flat, hole sides up and down. Logic tells me the beads would end up on their sides. I’m happy this happens because I love them flat.
