I call this pattern, Explosion! This color combination always reminds me of mid-century colors, like the turquoise chairs we had in our living room growing up.
I designed this pattern on a computer, to be laser cut locally for exquisite precision. I then handstitched it on white cardstock, using variegated turquoise thread, outlined with red thread. I use a tiny #20 “quilting between” needle to ensure the tiny stitching holes remain nearly invisible. I’m able to use that same tiny needle to sew in the tiny #15 seed beads for additional retro detail.
Meet Me at the Soda Shop is layered on a red circle, centered on turquoise cardstock. A 6″ square white mat was added, then framed behind glass in a white 8″ square frame.
Display out of direct sunlight and this framed handstitching can be enjoyed for years to come!
